Greek actress Kiki Dalakou, who appeared in numerous classic films during the 1960s and 1970s, has died at the age of 83. The news of her death was made public by actor Spyros Bimpilas in a post on Instagram.

Dalakou passed away on Sunday. Her funeral will take place on Thursday, August 13, at 11:00 AM at the First Cemetery of Piraeus, also known as Anastasi.

Announcement and Tributes

In his social media post, Bimpilas noted that departures were continuing and described Dalakou as a lovable colleague from old Greek cinema who played distinctive character roles in many films between 1963 and 1978, as well as performing for many years in theatre. He added that she passed away after creating a great family.

Bimpilas stated that Dalakou was born in Piraeus on August 28, 1943. He wished his colleague a peaceful journey and expressed his condolences to her family.

Film and Television Career

Dalakou built a career as a supporting and character actress during a prolific period for domestic filmmaking. Among her film credits were Krima... To Boi Sou, O Thanassis, I Ioulietta Kai Ta Loukanika, O Trelos Tis Plateias Agamon, and O Paichnidiaris.

She also appeared in the feature films Ena Agori... Alliotiko Ap' Ta Alla, Zitima Zois Kai Thanatou, and O Palavos Kosmos Tou Thanassi. In addition to her cinematic work, Dalakou performed on Greek television, including a role in the television series To Imerologio Enos Thyrorou.

The period spanning from 1963 to 1978, during which Dalakou was active on screen, coincided with the height and eventual transition of popular commercial filmmaking in Greece.
