Galy Galiano Announces Farewell Concert Tour in Guayaquil

Colombian singer Galy Galiano will perform at Alberto Spencer Stadium in Guayaquil on Sept. 26 as part of his farewell concert tour, titled La Última y Nos Vamos. The show will feature a guest performance by Ecuadorian artist Dayanara. Galiano, whose real name is Carmelo Galiano Cotes, explained that the tour marks the end of his stage performances rather than the end of his musical career after 45 years.

Galiano said the tour title carries two meanings, referencing both a final retirement concert and future travel plans to Stockholm, Dubai, and China. He noted that despite traveling to many international destinations throughout his career, hectic schedules often prevented him from exploring the cities he visited.

Touring Life and Travel Plans

Recalling a trip to Stockholm following a performance in Rome, Galiano described arriving at 6:00 p.m. before moving quickly between hotel sound checks, concerts, and airport departures. He said he would miss the rush of flights and hotels, but he plans to use his retirement for well-deserved vacations to visit places he previously saw only for work.

Born in 1958 in Chiriguaná, Colombia, the performer of the song La cita, composed by Alejandro Jaén, also addressed recent online rumors claiming he had passed away. Speaking in an interview, Galiano smiled and stated that he was alive and kicking, confirming that his health remains very good.

Galiano also reassured fans regarding the health of his wife, Sandra Bernal. She previously underwent a craniotomy to treat a brain tumor, which was later determined to be benign.

Future Projects and Ticket Information

Looking ahead, Galiano said he plans to continue producing music from home and mentioned the possibility of creating a symphonic album. He also intends to focus on architecture and writing. In 2021, he published the romantic novel Llévame contigo, which is being considered for a film adaptation, and he is currently working on another book that he visualizes as a television series.

While acknowledging that both he and his fans will feel nostalgia about ending live concert performances, Galiano expressed enthusiasm for exploring new opportunities. Tickets for the Guayaquil concert are available with a 25 percent pre-sale discount, excluding VAT and service fees. Pre-sale prices range from $24 for Pequeño motel to $140 for La cita golden box, with intermediate options including Amor de primavera black box at $105, Dos corazones at $78, and Me bebí tu recuerdo at $28.
