Peruvian former footballer Jefferson Farfán has confirmed that television presenter Magaly Medina paid the full S/350,000 civil reparation she owed him, marking a significant development in a legal dispute that has stretched on for years.
Farfán announced the payment on Instagram, posting a black-and-white photograph of a gym. Alongside the image, he addressed Medina directly, saying good morning and noting that she had finally paid in full, asking whether she was scared, and thanking her warmly.
The message was widely read as a pointed jab at Medina, known by the nickname “la Urraca,” in the ongoing feud between the two public figures.
Background to the legal dispute
The rivalry between Farfán and Medina dates to 2019, when her programme “Magaly TV, la firme” broadcast footage of Farfán at his apartment with singer Yahaira Plasencia. The case went to court and, in July 2024, resulted in a sentence of two years and eight months of effective imprisonment against Medina, which was converted into 138 days of community service and a civil reparation of S/500,000.
That figure was later reduced to S/350,000 following an appeal. Medina had previously paid an advance of S/145,000, though she had questioned Farfán’s insistence on receiving the money.
Beyond the payment, Farfán has continued to raise allegations of irregularities in Medina’s fulfilment of her court-ordered community service.
