Brazilian comedian Fábio Porchat is bringing his hit stage show 'Agora é que são Elas' back to Portugal for ten new dates, starting Tuesday and Wednesday at the Teatro Tivoli in Lisbon. The show returns alongside actresses and comedians Júlia Rabello, Maria Clara Gueiros and Priscila Castello Branco after a 2025 tour that sold out venues across the country.
Porchat told Correio da Manhã that the success of the first season was a good enough reason to bring the second. He said last year's tour packed out every venue they played, to the point that extra shows had to be added. He described it as a production with a very successful run in Brazil that is now having similar success in Portugal.
A comedy of everyday life
'Agora é que são Elas' offers a sharp, humorous take on everyday life, society, politics and contemporary human behaviour. Porchat described it as a light sketch show built around characters that audiences recognise, saying people have either been through the same situations themselves or know someone just like them, whether it is the eternal optimist, the superstitious friend, or the person who always makes an awkward comment.
Porchat praised the performance of his three co-stars, saying they are genuinely very funny and that after three years with the show they now know exactly when it works, allowing them to keep up a strong pace of jokes. He added that the cast also holds a lively exchange with the audience during the show, swapping personal stories, which he said adds to its success.
Praise for Portuguese audiences
Porchat also had warm words for audiences in Portugal, saying they love to laugh. He said he believes the show has built a following in the country over the years it has toured there, reflecting a relationship with Portuguese theatregoers he says has grown over time.
After the Lisbon dates, the tour moves to Setúbal's Fórum Municipal Luísa Todi on Thursday. It then continues to the Teatro Sá da Bandeira in Porto on 18 and 20 September, and to Espaço Vita in Braga on 19 September.
Further dates follow at the Centro de Artes de Águeda on 24 September, the Casino Estoril on 25 September, the Centro de Cultura e Formação in Vale de Cambra on 26 September, and the Centro de Congressos da Madeira in Funchal on 27 September.
Porchat is a well-known figure in Brazilian comedy, having built his career through stand-up, television and stage productions that regularly tour internationally, including in Portugal, where his shows have drawn large audiences in recent years.
