Mivivienda Fund will receive credit for US$300 million from JP Morgan

The Mivivienda Fund, attached to the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation (MVCS)signed two new lines of credit for a total of US$300 million at 6.5 years.

The resources will be used to finance access to green housing and social interest. The provider of this money is JP Morgan Chase Bank NA, and they have the guarantee of the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), which is part of the World Bank group.

Thus, it is estimated that almost 9,800 loans will be disbursed: 3,200 for green housing and 6,600 for low-income housing.

This agreement marks a milestone in the local financial market, since it is the first financing operation in soles guaranteed by the World Bank agency, they added from the MVCS.

Since the creation of Mivivienda Verde in March 2015, 33,335 loans have been granted for the acquisition of sustainable homes.

98,091 certified eco-friendly units were also offered in 528 projects nationwide. 75% corresponds to homes located in Metropolitan Lima and Callao, and the remaining 25% in regions such as Lambayeque, Piura, Arequipa, Ica and La Libertad.
