The legal documents were submitted on November 5. In addition to the complaint lodged by Blinovskaya's lawyer, separate complaints were filed by lawyers representing her parents and her husband.

Earlier, it was reported that the convicted blogger's financial manager, Maria Oznobikhina, had also filed an appeal against Blinovskaya's sentence. Oznobikhina challenged the ruling because she disagreed with the confiscation of property belonging to the blogger's family.

Elena Blinovskaya prison sentence and court rulings

In March 2025, the Savyolovsky District Court in Moscow sentenced Blinovskaya to five years in a penal colony. The appellate division of the Moscow City Court later reduced her punishment to four and a half years.

Blinovskaya is currently in the Vladimir Region, where she is serving her sentence in a unit of Women's Penal Colony No. 1, known in Russian as IK-1.

Blinovskaya became one of Russia's best-known internet personalities through social media, where she built a large following by selling online personal development courses and wish-fulfilment seminars.

Russian Supreme Court review and legal system

Under Russian law, a financial manager is appointed during personal bankruptcy proceedings to oversee a debtor's estate and property claims. In the criminal court system, district courts such as Moscow's Savyolovsky District Court hear trials in the first instance, while regional courts like the Moscow City Court handle initial appeals. The Supreme Court of the Russian Federation in Moscow is the country's highest judicial body for reviewing lower court verdicts.

The Vladimir Region is a province in central Russia located east of Moscow. Within the Russian correctional system, a corrective colony, abbreviated as IK, houses convicts in communal detachment units rather than individual prison cells.

The Supreme Court has not yet set a hearing date to consider the complaints submitted by the lawyers for Blinovskaya, her parents, and her husband.
