The National Electoral Council approved registration for Marcel René Ramírez Rhor and Clima Social Estudios y Asesoramientos S. A. to conduct electoral forecasts on Tuesday, August 11. The Plenary of the CNE passed both applications during its session for the upcoming sectional elections and the election of councilors for the Council for Public Participation and Social Control.
A CNE report determined that Ramírez met all requirements for natural persons seeking to conduct electoral forecasts. His request covers surveys for prefects in Pichincha and Guayas, as well as mayors in Quito and Guayaquil. Councillor Elena Nájera stated that Ramírez met all established conditions, while Councillor José Merino confirmed that the requirements were verified. Both voted in favor, along with Councillors Enrique Pita and Esthela Acero, and CNE President José Cabrera.
Requirements and voting for legal entities
The Plenary also reviewed the application from Clima Social Estudios y Asesoramientos S. A. to register as a legal entity for electoral forecasting. Merino noted that an analysis by the relevant department showed the company fulfilled all requirements. Nájera agreed that the firm met the necessary conditions, while Pita, Acero, and Cabrera also voted in favor of the request.
The approval of both agenda items permits Ramírez and Clima Social to conduct electoral forecasts within the framework established by the electoral body for the upcoming elections.
