Celine Dion joined fans outside her Paris hotel for an impromptu singalong ahead of her upcoming residency in the French capital.
The Canadian singer is staying at the Royal Monceau, a luxury hotel located a short distance from the Champs-Elysees, as she prepares for a series of concerts starting on September 12.
On Tuesday, a fan waiting outside the hotel played her French-language hit "Pour que tu m'aimes encore" on a loudspeaker. The 58-year-old singer joined in, singing the lyrics along with the gathered crowd.
The moment was captured in multiple videos posted to social media. The spontaneous performance came a day after she approached fans on Monday evening to speak with them.
Paris concert series
Dion has been in Paris for a week to prepare for her shows at the Plenitude Arena. She will perform three times a week on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
Each show will host more than 30,000 spectators. The initial run of concerts will be followed by ten additional dates scheduled for May 2027.
The upcoming shows have generated significant global interest, with fans from around the world securing tickets following her recent return to the stage.
Return to live music
The concerts mark a major milestone for Dion, who previously had to cancel multiple performances due to severe health problems. She was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that causes muscle spasms and affects the vocal cords, forcing an extended hiatus from touring and live performances.
Her most recent performance in France took place in July 2024 during the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games. In a highly anticipated return, she sang Edith Piaf's "L'Hymne à l'amour" from the Eiffel Tower.
"Pour que tu m'aimes encore," the song she performed with fans on Tuesday, remains one of her signature tracks. Written by Jean-Jacques Goldman, it served as the lead single for her 1995 album "D'eux," which became the best-selling French-language album in history.
With ten days remaining until her opening night at the Plenitude Arena, crowds continue to wait outside the Royal Monceau from evening to morning.
