A car crashed into a clothing store in Manaus, Brazil, injuring an employee while the shop owner hosted a live Black Friday social media broadcast.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:30pm local time on Thursday, November 5, when a Jeep Renegade careered off the road and smashed through the entrance of Guta Store.

The boutique is located on Joao Valerio Avenue in the Vieiralves neighbourhood, situated in the south-central zone of Manaus. At the time of the collision, the shop owner and a female staff member were presenting promotional clothing and Black Friday bargains to viewers online.
The vehicle ploughed into the commercial premises at high speed, creating panic among workers and customers inside as merchandise and fixtures were scattered across the showroom floor.
Livestream footage of the impact
The moment of the crash was captured directly by the camera used for the live transmission. The footage, which has since been shared widely on social media platforms, shows the vehicle abruptly breaching the glass storefront during the sales demonstration.
A female employee who was standing near the display area suffered injuries in the collision. First responders confirmed that she sustained abrasions to her shoulder as the vehicle and debris entered the shop.
Live video commerce has grown into a widespread retail practice across Brazil, particularly during the weeks leading up to Black Friday. Small business owners frequently stage real-time social media broadcasts to model outfits, engage directly with followers, and take immediate online orders.
Driver explanation to police
According to information forwarded to the Military Police, the woman behind the wheel claimed to officers from the 22nd Community Police Unit that she had fallen asleep while driving.
The 22nd Community Police Unit, known as Cicom, is the local territorial division responsible for neighbourhood policing in that sector of Manaus. In Brazil, state-level Military Police act as the primary uniformed patrol force handling roadside incidents and public order.
The vehicle involved was a Jeep Renegade, a subcompact sport utility vehicle produced in Brazil by automaker Stellantis. Investigators have not indicated whether mechanical failure played any role in the crash.
Emergency response and ongoing investigation
Paramedics from the Mobile Emergency Medical Care Service, known in Brazil by the acronym Samu, were dispatched immediately to the scene. Emergency crews provided first aid to the injured employee inside the store.
Authorities have not released information confirming whether the injured worker required transportation to a hospital, and no further details regarding her medical condition have been provided.
Samu operates across Brazilian municipalities as a state-funded emergency service, providing pre-hospital medical assistance and ambulance transport through a national emergency hotline.
Specialists from the local forensics department also attended the scene on Joao Valerio Avenue. Forensic experts conducted an on-site survey and examined the storefront to assess the structural damage and verify the circumstances that caused the motorist to lose control.
Civil authorities are continuing their investigation into the crash, using the broadcast recording to analyse vehicle speed and reconstruct the sequence of events.
Manaus, the capital of Amazonas state in northern Brazil, is a metropolitan area of more than two million residents. The Vieiralves district, where the crash occurred, serves as one of the city's key commercial districts, lined with fashion retailers, cafes, and residential towers.
