Belarusian automotive brand Avior has announced plans to expand its model lineup in Russia beyond vans and buses by entering the SUV market.
The company expects to sell its new off-road models through its Russian representative office and existing distribution network, which currently includes 16 dealership centers.
Avior also plans to open three additional dealership sites in the country in the near future to increase its sales reach.
Dealership expansion and market strategy
Company management views entering the new vehicle category as a strategic decision, taking the view that the current slowdown in the automobile market could be followed by a sharp surge in consumer demand.

Andrey Kharlamov, deputy general director of Avior for dealership network development, explained that market stagnation is typically followed by growth that can sometimes be so explosive that many industry players find themselves unprepared.
Kharlamov said the brand intentionally chose this timing to make the key decision to enter the off-road vehicle segment, despite it being complex and crowded with competitors.
Commercial transport and automotive context
Avior is an automotive brand based in Belarus that has historically focused on commercial vehicles, specifically cargo vans and passenger buses. Vans and buses are generally marketed to commercial fleets and municipal transport operators, while SUVs cater to retail buyers seeking personal vehicles equipped for off-road driving.
Sport utility vehicles, commonly referred to as SUVs, are engineered to merge passenger vehicle seating and comfort with off-road capabilities such as elevated ground clearance and robust suspension systems. The off-road vehicle market encompasses a wide range of all-terrain transport designed for rough roads and demanding driving environments.
Dealership networks form the operational foundation for vehicle sales, warranty repairs, and spare parts distribution across regional markets. Establishing additional sales sites enables vehicle manufacturers to broaden their geographic coverage and maintain customer service standards in expanding sales territories.
