Police in St Petersburg arrested an armed man on September 3 after he entered a city polyclinic and threatened staff with a handgun.
The incident occurred during the evening on Budapeshtskaya Street in the Frunzensky District of Russia's northern capital. According to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for St Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast, the unidentified man burst into the medical facility, brandished a pistol, and began issuing threats. Telegram news channel Mash reported that the intruder moved to an office on the second floor of the polyclinic, where he took a doctor hostage. External patrol police units were dispatched to the clinic immediately following the emergency signal.
