Apple is holding its main presentation of the year on September 9 at 8:00 p.m. Kyiv time, where the technology company is set to showcase its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, alongside the flagship iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. The launch event is also expected to feature the Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4, and fifth-generation AirPods.
Shortly before the event, news outlet Bloomberg published 20 final details regarding the upcoming devices, offering a comprehensive look at Apple's hardware lineup.
According to Bloomberg, Apple's inaugural foldable smartphone will be named the iPhone Duo. The device will feature support for the Apple Pencil and will be available in white and dark blue colors. The base model will come with 256 GB of storage, with pricing in the United States starting at $1,999.
The iPhone Duo will be powered by an A20 Pro processor and a C2 modem with 5G connectivity. For photography, the phone will feature two 48-megapixel primary rear cameras, while omitting a dedicated telephoto lens. Customer shipments of the iPhone Duo are scheduled to begin in October, though the opening date for pre-orders has not yet been revealed.

To improve thermal performance, the iPhone 18 Pro features an upgraded vapor chamber built to dissipate heat more effectively and reduce the risk of internal overheating. In addition, at least one model in the iPhone 18 Pro lineup will include a variable aperture camera, providing improved control over depth of field.
The Dynamic Island on the iPhone 18 Pro display will be approximately 35 percent smaller than on previous models. The revised cutout will be capable of displaying three Live Activities at the same time, up from two on prior generations. Pricing for the Pro models will increase by $100 compared to the iPhone 17 Pro series, bringing the starting price of the iPhone 18 Pro to $1,199 and the iPhone 18 Pro Max to $1,299.
Buyers looking for the standard iPhone 18 will not see it during today's event. The release of the standard iPhone 18 model has been scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.
The Pro series represents Apple's premium smartphone tier, offering higher-end build materials, advanced camera systems, and enhanced performance features. Vapor chamber cooling relies on liquid evaporation inside a sealed chamber to transfer heat away from high-performance chips. The Dynamic Island interface integrates physical screen cutouts with real-time software updates and active background alerts.
Apple Watch Series 12 and AirPods 5
The event will also highlight updates to Apple's smartwatch lineup, including the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4. Both models will feature new case color options, with the Apple Watch Series 12 introducing a ceramic case version. The Apple Watch Ultra 4 will offer longer battery life compared to the current Ultra 3 model.
Apple plans to announce a brand new application named Readiness for the Apple Watch. Additionally, the new Apple Watch models will feature artificial intelligence summaries of daily events, including key points from conversations with other people.
Alongside the smartwatches, Apple will introduce two versions of the AirPods 5 wireless earbuds. One version will come equipped with active noise cancellation technology, while the second version will be sold without active noise cancellation.
The Apple Watch is Apple's wearable device focused on personal health monitoring, activity tracking, and wireless communication. Ceramic watch cases provide high scratch resistance and structural durability. Active noise cancellation technology relies on internal and external microphones to detect external sound and generate anti-noise signals to block out background sound.
Leadership transition at Apple
Today's launch event marks the first major public presentation for Apple's new chief executive officer, John Ternus. Ternus officially replaced Tim Cook in the chief executive role on September 1, 2026, following Cook's 15-year tenure leading the corporation.

The keynote follows the quiet launch of new Mac mini desktop computers in late August 2026. Apple introduced the updated Mac mini models equipped with M5 Pro and M6 processors without holding a dedicated launch event. That release marked the first update to the Mac mini line since 2024 and was the final product launched under Cook's leadership.
