Apple customers face long delivery delays for upcoming devices because of memory module supply shortages, publication MacRumors reported, citing analyst Tim Culpan.
According to Culpan, Apple has encountered difficulties obtaining the necessary volume of memory modules. The supply bottleneck has forced Apple's main processor manufacturer, TSMC, to stack up $1 billion in unfinished chips while waiting for memory components.
Culpan said the situation would cause new smartphones from Apple to be in short supply. He said Tim Cook's corporation remains optimistic that it can satisfy initial demand, but he predicted devices would temporarily disappear from the market right after announcement.
Production Delays and Fall Lineup
Delivery times for Mac Studio, Mac mini, and MacBook Air computers have already grown in recent months. The report stated that Apple may announce its new devices in September but push sales back to between October and December.
MacRumors previously reported that Apple plans to present the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and its first foldable smartphone in the autumn. The company is also expected to release new watches, speakers, and a TV set-top box.
