Television presenter Alex Jones has recalled the terrifying ordeal she faced while scaling a 365-metre sandstone cliff in Utah during a broadcast for charity.
Speaking to The Mirror, the host of BBC One magazine show The One Show shared her memories of participating in the 2014 Sport Relief challenge. The grueling three-day ascent required her to scale the sheer rock wall and even sleep while suspended from the vertical cliff face.

Jones described the experience as without a doubt the scariest thing she had ever done, adding that she was terrified throughout the entire ordeal. The presenter explained that the three-day climb represented a true test of endurance.
During the live broadcast of her climb, Jones raised 1.2 million pounds for Sport Relief. The initiative is a major biennial charity campaign organized in the United Kingdom by Comic Relief in association with BBC Sport, bringing together sports figures and entertainment stars to raise funds for vulnerable communities in Britain and around the world.
Scaling Utah Sandstone
Jones has served as a co-host on The One Show for 16 years, becoming one of the most recognizable faces on British television. Her 2014 fundraising expedition took place within a national park in Utah, a western US state famous for its massive red sandstone bluffs and desert cliffs that draw outdoor adventurers from across the globe.
On-Air Wildlife Encounters
The presenter's comments follow another memorable admission from a British television star. Actor, comedian, and presenter Bradley Walsh previously fed a live crocodile during a television broadcast, admitting on air that the frightening encounter left him so terrified he almost messed his pants.
Walsh is a popular entertainer in the United Kingdom, best known as the long-running host of the ITV game show The Chase and for his roles in major television drama series.
