Adria Arjona says her role in the upcoming Superman sequel is the motivation that gets her out of bed each morning, even as she works through a punishing training schedule to prepare for the part.
The character the 34-year-old actress will play in "Man of Tomorrow" has not yet been revealed, but she is already following a demanding fitness regimen ahead of filming.
The daily training routine
Arjona described her exhausting workouts and expressed her excitement about her mysterious role in a recent Women's Health video. She said she does about 45 minutes of cardio followed by roughly two hours of weight training. After that workout she eats something, then does six rounds of boxing, eats again, eats more, and goes to sleep.
The actress compared the demanding process to a regular job, saying she genuinely enjoys it. She said she loves the transformation but that it is hard work, adding that she has never felt stronger, even though it is difficult.

Arjona said one of the things giving her the strength to push through the intense physical challenge is her role in the new Superman sequel, which is set for release in cinemas on July 9, 2027. She said the excitement she feels for the woman she is portraying gives her everything she needs to get out of bed. She added that it is physically exhausting, but that it is all for the greater good.
Staying tight-lipped about the role
As is customary with superhero films, Arjona avoided revealing any details about her character. When Entertainment Weekly asked her about the related rumors at San Diego Comic-Con in July, she joked, pretending she was about to leave the set, saying she thought she would leave now.
If the rumors prove true, Arjona would take on the role of Princess Diana of Themyscira in the new DC film universe being built by James Gunn. The character was last played on the big screen by Gal Gadot in the 2020 film "Wonder Woman 1984."
Background on the Superman sequel
"Man of Tomorrow" is the follow-up to James Gunn's "Superman," part of the rebooted DC film universe Gunn is overseeing as part of DC Studios. The film is scheduled to arrive in theaters on July 9, 2027.
Gal Gadot has portrayed Wonder Woman in several DC films, including a 2020 standalone feature, though she has not been confirmed for the new DC universe Gunn is building.
