Ukrainian Defence Minister Yevheniy Khmara has been seen wearing a British-made Elliot Brown Holton 101-001-R06 tactical watch built specifically for military use. The watch is valued at about 512 euros, which equals more than 26,000 Ukrainian hryvnias.
The unusual accessory was highlighted by a Threads blogger using the handle cats_and_watches, who identified it as a professional diving watch engineered for soldiers and security personnel.
The blogger pointed out that the model features a reinforced shockproof case to protect its internal mechanism from heavy impacts. Its dial is designed for high legibility under challenging field conditions.
To prevent discomfort during active tactical maneuvers and shooting, the crown of the Holton 101-001-R06 is offset to the four o'clock position so it does not press into the wrist.
The blogger praised the durability of the watch, noting that it remained operational even after being tested at a depth of 1,190 metres and describing it as an absolute beast.

According to the company, the Holton 101-001 series was created following a direct request from a specialised military unit that required a reliable watch capable of surviving harsh battlefield conditions.
Ministerial appointment and military strategy
Khmara was appointed to lead Ukraine's Ministry of Defence on 19 August after the Verkhovna Rada, the Ukrainian parliament, approved a submission from President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. A total of 312 lawmakers voted in favour of his appointment.
Addressing parliament during his confirmation, Khmara declared that forcing the enemy into peace could only be accomplished through the strength of the Ukrainian armed forces, combined with technological and symmetrical solutions.
Following his appointment, the defence minister stated that officials must develop a comprehensive decision to address mobilization across the country, confirming that preparatory work on the strategy is currently under way to move forward with a mobilization plan.
