Xiaomi has expanded its tablet lineup with two new models, the Pad 9 and Pad 9 Pro, both fitted with large LCD screens offering 3.2K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate, according to Gadgets 360.
The displays support Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HDR Vivid, and carry certifications for reduced eye strain, Gadgets 360 reported.
Screen size and processors
The Pad 9 is built for buyers who want a more compact device, with an 11.2-inch screen and a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor. The Pad 9 Pro steps up to a larger 12.5-inch panel paired with the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip.
Snapdragon processors are made by the US chipmaker Qualcomm and power a large share of Android phones and tablets on the market, including previous Xiaomi devices.
Battery and charging
The Pro model also carries a bigger battery, at 11,000 mAh compared with 9,720 mAh in the standard Pad 9. Charging speeds differ as well, running at 67W on the Pad 9 Pro against 45W on the Pad 9.
Cameras and storage
The two tablets diverge on cameras too. The Pad 9 Pro has a 50-megapixel main sensor capable of recording 4K video, along with a 32-megapixel front camera for video calls and selfies. The standard Pad 9 carries a 13-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel front camera, both capped at Full HD video recording.
Storage tops out at 256GB on both models. Memory options go up to 12GB of RAM on the Pad 9 and up to 16GB on the Pad 9 Pro, depending on the configuration bought.
Price and availability
Sales of the Xiaomi Pad 9 and Pad 9 Pro have already begun in China. The base version of the Pad 9 costs 3,000 yuan, or about $450, while the Pad 9 Pro starts at 3,799 yuan, or about $570. The most expensive Pro configuration, with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, costs 4,999 yuan, or about $750. Xiaomi's own stylus and keyboard accessories are sold separately and are not included in those prices.
Other recent Xiaomi launches
Xiaomi also showed its Xiaomi 18 Fold at IFA 2026, a device notable for its unusual form factor, red housing and the company's new in-house Xring O3 processor. IFA is one of the world's largest consumer electronics trade shows, held annually in Berlin.
Separately, Xiaomi has presented a smartphone that the company says can run for up to three days on a single charge thanks to a 10,000 mAh battery.
Xiaomi is a Chinese electronics manufacturer best known for smartphones, and has built out a wider lineup of tablets, wearables and smart home devices sold at competitive prices across global markets.
