A serious traffic accident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, August 5, in the Galliko area of Achladi, in the municipality of Mantoudi-Limni-Agia Anna on the island of Evia, when a car driven by a woman about 80 years old left the road and crashed into a tree.
According to evima.gr, the elderly driver was heading toward Kotsikia when, under circumstances that remain unclear, she lost control of the vehicle, which left the road and struck a tree with force.
Fire service crews rushed to the scene and freed the driver from the wreckage. Police officers from the Limni Police Station were also present. An EKAV ambulance took the injured woman to the Mantoudi Health Center, where she was given first aid.
The exact causes of the crash are being investigated by the relevant authorities.
