Two tourist vessels carrying more than 200 people collided in the sea area of Voutoumi Bay off Antipaxos on Tuesday afternoon.
Video published by Greek television station Star showed the smaller vessel wedged into the front section of the larger ship. More than 200 passengers on board the larger vessel watched in terror as the smaller craft suffered material damage.
Vessel movement and passenger safety
Once the two boats were untangled, the smaller vessel carrying ten people sailed to the new port of Paxos. Three passengers from the smaller boat were taken to the Paxos Health Center as a precautionary measure.
The larger passenger boat, carrying 203 people, sailed to the port of Corfu under the escort of a Greek Coast Guard patrol vessel. Authorities reported that all passengers and crew were in good health, and neither vessel suffered water inflow.
