Three young people, whose ages ranged between 18 and 25 years, were murdered in the Colombian department of Valle del Cauca (southwest) by armed men who shot them in a park, the Police reported this Saturday.
Colonel Ever Yovanni Gómez, commander in charge of the Valle del Cauca Police, told journalists that the attack occurred in the town of Buga last Friday night.
The victims were identified as Stivens Rodríguez, 18; Germán Valdez Rodas, 19, and Jean Cardona, 25. Another 16-year-old was seriously injured and is being treated at a local hospital.
Colonel Gómez said that the victims “were referred to a care center where they later died due to the seriousness of their injuries.”

Locals told local media that armed men on motorcycles shot at the boys who were chatting in the park.
The local authorities began the investigation for which they appointed a special group made up of judicial police and intelligence and articulated with the Prosecutor’s Office to capture those responsible for the massacre.
In March of this year, three people were murdered in their own home in a rural area of Buga.
Valle del Cauca has been shaken by massacres such as the one that occurred on August 11, 2021, when five minors were murdered in the Llano Verde neighborhood of Cali, the main city in the southwest of the country.
At the time, the Prosecutor’s Office said that the victims frequently went to the place to eat cane “and on the day of the events, three adults who worked as guards around the cane field observed the five minors approaching and without saying a word, in an act of total barbarity, they were murdered”.
