Television presenter Tatyana Lazareva, who left Russia, has praised the Israeli people on the third anniversary of the Hamas attack on Israel.

Writing on her official Telegram channel, Lazareva stated that she admired how the people of Israel survived the assault and became even more united rather than splitting into factions that blame one another.

Lazareva also offered specific thanks to all Israelis for what she described as a lesson in humanity. She said their actions served as a reminder of how to fight for and value the life of every compatriot, describing their response as an example of genuine patriotism.

Lazareva is a prominent Russian television host and actress known for her work on popular entertainment programs. Telegram, a cloud-based messaging platform, is widely used across Russia for public channels and news distribution.

Legal Status in Russia

The presenter, who moved abroad following her departure from Russia, has been designated as a foreign agent by the Russian Ministry of Justice. Russia's Ministry of Justice maintains the register under laws that require designated individuals to attach formal disclaimers to all public posts and submit periodic financial reports to authorities.

In addition, Lazareva was included on the official list of terrorists and extremists maintained by Rosfinmonitoring. Rosfinmonitoring, officially known as the Federal Financial Monitoring Service of the Russian Federation, is the government body responsible for anti-money laundering enforcement and tracking financial crimes. Individuals placed on its registry face frozen bank accounts and strict financial limitations in Russia.

Anniversary of the October 7 Attack

Her comments were published on October 7, 2026, marking three years since militants from the radical Palestinian group Hamas launched an invasion of Israeli territory on October 7, 2023. During the attack, gunmen struck several kibbutzes, border towns, and an outdoor music festival taking place near the border with the Gaza Strip.

The terrorist attack resulted in the deaths of 1,200 people. Following the attack, Israel became involved in a series of ongoing wars across the region.

Hamas is a Palestinian political and militant organization that governs the Gaza Strip, a coastal enclave situated between Israel and Egypt. A kibbutz is a traditional communal settlement in Israel.
