Star Plus (Star+), Service streaming owned by The Walt Disney Company, it will have the rights to broadcast the matches of the 2022 campaign of the Professional League of Ecuador, which start on February 18.

Osvaldo Giménez, director of GolTV for Latin America, LigaPro television rights administrator, revealed: “With the Disney application (Star +) you will be able to watch Ecuadorian soccer. This is how we are giving stability to the contract (with LigaPro). Ecuadorian football can be seen on Star Plus inside and outside of Ecuador ”.

The pronouncement comes after the letter sent by the Council of Presidents of the League for the Uruguayan company to cancel within a period of fifteen working days – it will be fulfilled at the end of this month – the debt of $ 12 million that it maintains with the clubs for debts that it carries from 2019 and 2021.

In response to the statement, Giménez, in a dialogue with The Round RadioHe commented: “The company will reply to the letter. The clubs have the information that we will comply. There is not a single club that wants me to GolTV leave the country ”.

And regarding the legal disputes that they maintain with the country’s cable operators, the director explained: “With CNT he is going to join the 2022 football season. DirecTV got up to date on some payments and with them everything is perfect and we will be with they”.

Miguel Ángel Loor, president of LigaPro, in a talk with WQ Radio from Guayaquil, he said: “We do not have proposals from other international chains. I do not defend GolTV, but if they leave and we have nothing (other offers), the clubs can have problems. Especially those who have more difficulties to sell the rights ”. (D)
