“I experienced humiliation, blows and words that I cannot repeat”: Tamara Ramos is the first woman to accuse Luis Rubiales of workplace abuse despite the fact that she is the godfather of one of his children

In 2012, Ramos was the director of marketing at the Association of Spanish Footballers (AFE), while Rubiales was the president of that organization. Tamara nervously recalled this episode in the first interview for “El programa de verano” on Telecinac, August 23.

Tamara Ramos showed her face on television for the first time and told her experience with Luis Rubiales, recounting the critical moments with the manager from whom she only received “humiliations” and inappropriate insults.

These phrases were the preamble before adding that he even asked her inappropriate questions such as “what color underwear are you wearing today”, something she found difficult at the time given her status as a woman in football and considering “the power that she had and holds” Rubiales, who is currently the president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).

When Tamara Ramos sued Luis Rubiales, she was the mother of two children, the youngest of whom was three months old, and the eldest, due to her closeness with her ex-husband, was the manager’s godchild. She remembers that he started the case because she couldn’t take it anymore, and when she wanted to leave her job, he threatened to stop paying her.

“When I sued him, I was with two babies, the one of three months. It was terrible, but very bad, it was very difficult for me because you obviously lose your job, but I also sued him for termination of the contract. He didn’t want to, he told me that if I left he wouldn’t leave me without a job, so I had to sue,” he told the cameras Telecinco.

But her testimony did not stop there, and a few days later, on August 29 to be exact, Tamara went to the set of a Spanish channel where she confirmed every word and added other phrases that Rubiales said to her at some point.

“I sued him. Everything is in court and I did what I had to do. If I tell this ten years ago, no one will believe me,” she said in another interview for Telecinco, in which she also recalled that she had recovered and, as proof of that, founded another union in defense of female soccer players, which bore fruit.

However, the question of Luis Rubiales is the one on the table and for this reason he added another testimony such as the time he humiliated her because she was pregnant.

“He bullied me all the time. At the meeting, he told me: ‘This one is pregnant, her neurons are gone,’ said Tamara Ramos, who was going through her second pregnancy at the time.

“When I walked in, by the way I had to step, I knew if it was funny, if it was aggressive, if it was sarcastic. He was super aggressive, he would suddenly come up behind you and hit the table. Or banging on the door”, assured the trade unionist.

From the trial he went through with Rubiales, he admitted that they settled and compensated her, but before that, the manager took all his employees to court “to extort” Tamara Ramos and make me “feel small.” The judge did not allow her to work with Rubiales again.

As an interesting fact, Ramos added that the former soccer player who is under scrutiny for kissing Jenni Hermoso is his associate. Rubiales was a friend of Tamara’s ex-partner and asked him to baptize his eldest daughter.

“He is the godfather of my eldest daughter because my ex-partner gave her to him without consulting me. The only thing he did as godfather was to go to the baptism,” he said. (AND)
