“Kos” is a film loosely set in Polish historical realities. In the spring of 1794, General Tadeusz “Kos” Kościuszko (Jacek Braciak) returns to the country and plans an uprising against the Russians. He mobilizes the Polish nobility and peasants, who, although very willing to make an uprising, do not seem to be adequately prepared for it. Kościuszko is accompanied by the faithful. friend and former slave, Domingo (Jason Mitchell). The Pole is wanted to be stopped by a Russian captain, Dunin (Robert Więckiewicz), who knows no mercy.

Paweł Maślony’s film conquered this year’s Eagles. The production received as many as 13 nominations in the competition, of which it won six. The work was also awarded nine Golden Lions and nominated for FAF and OFF Camera awards.
Polish critics on Filmweb rated this loose variation on Kościuszko 7.8 stars on a ten-star scale. “Polish historical cinema for our times. Humor, lightness and solid lessons learned. Actors in their best roles in years,” writes Adriana Prodeus from “Vogue” about the production. “Films like this go to the Oscars. In a few years, it will be a staple of the Christmas schedule, next to ‘The Deluge’ and ‘The Quack’,” predicts Ewelina Leszczyńska. “Tarantino pod Racławicami.
