Russian heavyweight boxer Alexander Povetkin appreciated the victory of compatriot Artur Beterbiev over Briton Anthony Yarde at a boxing evening in London. His words are quoted by MMA Metaratings.
“Beterbiev – well done! Yes, something didn’t work out for him, because Yard is also a good boxer, ”he said. Povetkin said that the Russian had fulfilled his mission and, if the seconds had not intervened, he would have finished off the opponent.
On January 29, Beterbiev defeated Yarde by technical knockout in the eighth round. He defended three world titles in the light heavyweight category: according to the World Boxing Council (WBC), the International Boxing Federation (IBF) and the World Boxing Organization (WBO).
