Samsung is developing a sport-focused wireless earphone, with design images leaked by SamMobile showing a hook-style model aimed at runners and athletes.
The earphone, known internally as Buds Canal 5, could launch under a different name, the leaked images suggest. The design features ear hooks with a flat structure and a tip that extends into the ear.
Samsung has not confirmed whether the final product will use a traditional in-ear silicone tip or a semi-in-ear design. A traditional tip would better seal the ear canal and improve passive noise isolation, while a semi-in-ear design would offer a more open and comfortable fit, making Samsung’s choice a key factor in how the product is positioned for sport use.
The earphones are likely to carry some level of dust and water resistance. Whether the model will include active noise cancellation remains unknown, though such a feature would not be surprising if Samsung markets it as a sports-oriented product.
