The budget carrier confirmed in a statement that it is the only airline offering direct flights on the route throughout the winter season.

The new Polish link forms part of a broader seasonal schedule spanning from late October through to late March 2027. Across that five-month window, the Irish carrier plans to operate more than 3.6 million passenger seats.

According to the airline, seat capacity on its routes to Poland will climb by 31 percent during this period. Capacity on its flight connections to Italy will also increase by 9 percent.

Expanded European winter schedule

Alongside the new service to Poznan, Ryanair is increasing flight frequencies on 20 existing routes across Europe. The expanded services include extra flights to Venice and Naples in Italy, Krakow in Poland, Porto in Portugal, and the Hungarian capital of Budapest.

Poznan, situated on the Warta River in west-central Poland, is one of the country's oldest cities and an important trade, industrial, and university centre. Krakow, located in southern Poland, serves as the country's second-largest city and a major destination for international leisure travel.

Airlines across Europe structure their operations around standardised summer and winter schedules coordinated by the International Air Transport Association. The commercial aviation winter season traditionally begins on the final Sunday of October and continues through the final weekend of March.

Ryanair investment and operations in Barcelona

Ryanair currently stations 14 aircraft at Barcelona-El Prat Josep Tarradellas Airport. The airline stated that this local fleet represents a capital investment of 1.4 billion dollars, or approximately 1.247 billion euros.

The company said that its fleet and operations at the airport support more than 7,000 direct and indirect jobs in the Catalan capital.

Barcelona-El Prat is Catalonia's main international airport and the second busiest gateway in Spain after Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas Airport. The airport acts as a primary operating hub for short and medium haul European low-cost carriers catering to both business and tourism travel.

Headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, Ryanair is Europe's largest low-cost airline group by passenger volume. The carrier operates an extensive point-to-point network across the continent, flying predominantly short-haul routes with a fleet made up largely of Boeing 737 aircraft.
