The Russian government has authorised the production, circulation and import of Euro-2, Euro-3 and Euro-4 motor gasoline until July 1, 2027, RIA Novosti reported.
Under the decree, gas stations must inform buyers about the ecological class of the fuel being sold. Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed the document on August 5, and it took effect immediately upon publication on the official legal information portal.
Fuel standards and revenues
The Ministry of Energy clarified that the document sets temporary rules for fuel turnover, permitting K2, K3 and K4 class gasoline corresponding to Euro-2, Euro-3 and Euro-4 international standards. The decision also cancels a previous decree that allowed the circulation of K5 class gasoline with higher sulfur content until the end of 2026.
In addition, budget revenues from oil and gas reached 934 billion rubles in July, reflecting a 16 percent increase compared to the previous year after accounting for lower damper payments.
