Princess Eugenie of York gave birth to a daughter on Monday, August 3, in Portugal, Buckingham Palace announced. The palace said King Charles III and Queen Camilla and other members of the royal family were delighted to hear the news, in a post on X that included a photo of the baby, whose name has not been revealed.
The baby is the third child of Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, following the births of their sons August Philip Hawke Brooksbank in 2021 and Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank in 2023. On Instagram, the 36-year-old princess, who is a director at the contemporary art gallery Hauser & Wirth, said she and Jack were delighted to announce the arrival of the little Brooksbank, adding that they were totally smitten with their little girl.
Line of succession and family ties
The couple married in October 2018 and split their time between Portugal and Ivy Cottage, on the grounds of Kensington Palace in London.
The newborn will take 15th place in the line of succession to the British throne, moving ahead of her great-uncle, Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh. She is also the fifth grandchild of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, brother of King Charles III, who was stripped of his royal titles and honors in October 2025 following revelations about his ties to Jeffrey Epstein.
