Portimão Judge's Drunk-Driving Ruling Used Wrong Case

A judge at the Portimão Court in southern Portugal convicted a man of disobedience in a drunk-driving case using part of the legal reasoning written for a different case, including details of another crime and even the name of the other defendant, according to Correio da Manhã.

Court of Appeal review

The Évora Court of Appeal identified what it described as errors and writing lapses in the ruling and corrected them. Despite this, the court rejected an appeal from the convicted man, who had asked for the sentence to be annulled because of the mistakes.

The man's sentence was upheld, and he must pay 747.50 euros.
