Hincapié appeared in the 32nd minute to reduce the deficit to 1-2 after Arsenal fell behind 0-2 early in the match. Following a corner kick taken by Christos Tzolis, Betis goalkeeper Álvaro Vallés misjudged his exit, leaving the ball open for Hincapié to head into an empty net.
The goal highlighted the Ecuadorian player's offensive strength on set-piece plays, which is one of his main assets. Hincapié continues to gain playing time during Arsenal's preparation for the new season as he looks to establish himself in the manager's plans.
