The UK has provided Ukraine with missiles to counter the Russian fleet in the Azov and Black Seas. This was announced by the Ukrainian ambassador to London, Vadym Prystaiko, on Novoe Vremya radio.

According to him, thanks to the received “real weapons”, Ukraine will finally have something to oppose to the Russians at sea. He also stressed that the country had never received such funds “for development” from anyone before.

Prystaiko added that despite all the problems, Ukraine suits the UK as a friend, as evidenced by the concluded military agreement for $2 billion.

Earlier, British Ambassador to Russia Deborah Bronnert spoke about the weapons that the country sent to Ukraine. She noted that these are defensive weapons that are supplied to Kiev “entirely within the framework of the law.” According to Bronnert, London does not want a conflict between Russia and Ukraine and believes that Moscow should “defuse the situation.”

Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky, in turn, said that his country received thousands of modern anti-tank missiles from Britain. Poland is also ready to transfer “tens of thousands of defensive weapons” to Kiev.
