ONP Begins Home Pension Payments to 10,171 Lima Retirees

The Oficina de Normalización Previsional (ONP) began paying pensions door to door on Monday, September 14, to 10,171 retirees across Lima Metropolitana and Callao, according to the official schedule approved by Peru's Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF).

The home payment service, which runs through Wednesday, September 23, covers pensioners enrolled in regime 19990, the pension scheme administered by the ONP. The payments will allow retirees to cover unforeseen expenses such as basic food and medicine.

Payment schedule by zone

ONP staff will visit Lima Norte first, from September 14 to 16, covering Ancón, Bellavista, Callao, Carabayllo, Carmen de la Legua, Comas, Independencia, La Perla, La Punta, Los Olivos, Mi Perú, Magdalena, Pueblo Libre, Puente Piedra, San Martín de Porres, San Miguel, Santa Rosa, Santa Rosa de Quives and Ventanilla.

Lima Sur will be paid on September 17 and 18, in Barranco, Chilca, Chorrillos, Lurín, Miraflores, Punta Negra, San Borja, San Isidro, San Juan de Miraflores, Santiago de Surco, Surquillo, Villa El Salvador and Villa María del Triunfo.

Lima Centro follows from September 19 to 21, taking in Ate, Breña, Chaclacayo, Cieneguilla, El Agustino, Jesús María, La Molina, La Victoria, Lima, Lince, Lurigancho, Pachacamac, Ricardo Palma, Rímac, San Juan de Lurigancho, San Luis, Santa Anita and Santa Eulalia. The dates were shared by the outlet Exitosa based on the official schedule.

Public sector pay dates at Banco de la Nación

Banco de la Nación, Peru's state bank, also published its September 2026 payment schedule for public sector wages. Employees are grouped by ministry or institution and paid on different days starting the third week of the month.

Workers at the Ministry of Education, including universities, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Transport and Communications, Defense, the Judiciary, the Public Ministry, Economy and Finance, Justice, regional government executing units, the Comptroller General, Congress, Agrarian and Irrigation, and Energy and Mines will be paid on Thursday, September 17.

Staff at the Interior Ministry, Development and Social Inclusion, Housing, Construction and Sanitation, the Ombudsman's Office and Foreign Affairs are due to be paid on Friday, September 18.

Health, Women and Vulnerable Populations, Culture, Environment, Labor and Employment Promotion, and National Registry of Identification and Civil Status employees will receive their wages on Monday, September 21.

The last group, covering Production, Foreign Trade and Tourism, the National Office of Electoral Processes, the Military Police Court, the National Board of Justice, the National Jury of Elections and the Constitutional Court, is scheduled for Tuesday, September 22.

The ONP administers Peru's national pension system, known as regime 19990, which covers workers who contributed to the state pension fund before the creation of Peru's private pension fund administrators. Banco de la Nación is the state-owned bank that channels salary and pension payments for Peru's public sector.
