Nvidia has set an October launch for the first devices built on its Arm-based RTX Spark platform, with laptops and mini PCs powered by the company's new N1X chip going on sale next month.
The announcement came as part of a statement made during IFA, the consumer electronics trade fair held in Berlin, where Nvidia said its original equipment manufacturer partners would begin shipping RTX Spark systems in October. Acer, Asus, Dell, Gigabyte, HP, MSI, Lenovo and Microsoft are among the manufacturers preparing RTX Spark devices in this first wave.
Nvidia said laptops built on the platform could be as thin as 14 millimeters and would offer all-day battery life. A second chip in the same family, called N1 rather than N1X, will not reach the market this year.

RTX Spark, which Nvidia announced earlier in the summer, marks the company's shift from a graphics card maker into a full PC platform supplier. At the heart of the platform is the N1X system-on-chip, which combines an Arm-based Grace CPU, a Blackwell RTX GPU and high-capacity unified memory on a single piece of silicon.
Two versions of the N1X chip
Nvidia will release the N1X chip in two configurations. The higher-end version pairs a 20-core Grace CPU with a 6,144-core Blackwell RTX GPU, with unified memory ranging from 24GB up to 128GB. Nvidia plans to use this configuration in both high-end laptops and compact desktop computers, including Microsoft's Surface RTX Spark Dev Box.
The second, scaled-down configuration pairs an 18-core Grace CPU with a 5,120-core Blackwell RTX GPU, with unified memory options between 24GB and 32GB. This version is expected to appear mainly in laptops in the initial rollout.

What RTX Spark could mean for gaming
The top-tier N1X chip's 6,144 GPU cores match the core count of Nvidia's RTX 5070 graphics card, while the 5,120-core configuration carries more CUDA cores than the RTX 5060 Ti.
However, matching core counts alone does not allow for a firm performance prediction. Because the N1X combines CPU, GPU and memory into a single chip, and because laptops in particular face power consumption and thermal limits, performance is not expected to reach the level of desktop graphics cards.

Even so, Nvidia is aiming for RTX Spark systems to deliver high-end gaming performance among computers with integrated graphics. The company has not yet detailed which games or settings its targets apply to, but it has pointed to a goal of 100 frames per second at 1440p resolution with ray tracing and DLSS switched on.
Software and AI features
The platform will also support Nvidia's newer imaging technologies, including DLSS 5, DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction, and Multi Frame Generation with up to sixfold output.
Beyond gaming, Nvidia said RTX Spark systems would be capable of processing 3D scenes as large as 90GB using OptiX and ray tracing, giving the platform a role in content creation work as well.
Nvidia also described RTX Spark as strong on artificial intelligence. The platform will have access to the company's full Nvidia AI software stack and will be able to run AI agents with 120 billion parameters locally on the device. The systems will additionally support a context length of up to 1 million tokens.
