Nissan has officially revealed the second generation of the Pixo, expanding its urban vehicle lineup with an all-electric mini car.
The new model sits below the recently launched Micra supermini, marking the Japanese automaker's latest step in targeting compact city car segments across Europe.
By adding the Pixo alongside the Micra, Nissan has covered its range of urban vehicles, offering models in both the supermini and mini car categories.
The Pixo nameplate returns after more than a decade away from the market. Nissan originally introduced the first-generation model between 2009 and 2013, but the vehicle struggled for sales traction during the European financial crisis before being withdrawn.
Platform and digital design
The revived Pixo enters the market as a fully electric vehicle, targeting a European mini car segment that is showing signs of recovery.
Underneath its exterior, the Pixo is built on the engineering platform of the Renault Twingo electric mini car. French carmaker Renault and Nissan have shared vehicle architectures and production technology for decades through their global corporate alliance.
Despite sharing its foundation with the Twingo, Nissan has given the Pixo a distinct visual style featuring a bold digital design language inside and out.
The vehicle features a modern silhouette that combines cube-inspired proportions with clean surfaces and bit logic styling cues across multiple areas.
Pixel-inspired lighting and a distinctive front end give the vehicle a playful expression resembling a robot face. Nissan has also incorporated 23 hidden easter egg design details throughout the car.
Dimensions and electric powertrain
The Pixo is sized for maneuvering and street parking in crowded urban areas such as Athens, the Greek capital known for tight street layouts and heavy traffic.
The mini car measures 3,796 mm in length and 1,790 mm in width, providing a compact footprint for city driving.
Inside, the vehicle features independent sliding rear seats, allowing drivers to adjust the space allocated for rear passengers and cargo as needed. Luggage capacity reaches 362 litres, a high figure for a vehicle in the mini car class.
Power is supplied by an 81-horsepower electric motor paired with a 27.5-kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack. LFP batteries are commonly used in modern electric vehicles for their durability, thermal stability and lower manufacturing costs.
Nissan states that the battery delivers a driving range of at least 259 kilometres on a single charge. The vehicle also includes a One Pedal driving mode, allowing drivers to accelerate and decelerate using only the accelerator pedal.
Charging and onboard technology
For charging, the Pixo supports up to 11 kW using alternating current (AC) power, which is standard for home wallbox installations and public chargers.
When connected to a 50-kW direct current (DC) fast charger, the battery can charge from 15 percent to 80 percent in approximately 28 minutes.
Nissan has equipped the Pixo with digital technology designed to simplify daily driving. Integrated Google services provide real-time route planning, intuitive navigation and vehicle connectivity.
Drivers can manage charging schedules and vehicle settings remotely using the MyNissan smartphone application. A Face ID recognition feature automatically identifies drivers as they enter and loads their saved personal preferences.
The dashboard features a 7-inch digital driver display and a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The software includes Google Gemini, an artificial intelligence assistant capable of answering complex driver questions, such as how many whiskers a seal has.
The new Nissan Pixo is scheduled to arrive on Greek roads in early 2027, with the manufacturer expected to offer the model at a highly competitive price.
