Miltos Tentoglou won his fourth consecutive long jump gold medal at the European Outdoor Athletics Championships with an 8.44-meter jump in Birmingham. The Paris Olympic champion secured top spot on his fourth attempt of the competition.
Historic Fourth Gold Medal
The victory makes Tentoglou the first athlete in the history of the championships to collect four gold medals in the long jump. He previously won European outdoor gold in Berlin in 2018, Munich in 2022, and Rome in 2024.
Before this win, Tentoglou shared the record of three titles with Soviet jumper Ivan Ter-Ovanesyan, who won gold in 1958, 1962, and 1969. Tentoglou also became the 27th athlete in the history of the competition across all events to reach four gold medals.
