Greek actress Maria Konstantaki said in a recent interview that she has been critical of the way she treated friends in the past, admitting she has been verbally abusive toward people close to her.
Konstantaki said that in recent years she has changed the way she communicates with others. She now tries to express what she wants in a gentler and more careful way, without insulting or belittling the other person.

Speaking on the vidcast Butterfly Stories, Konstantaki said she sees a huge difference in how she has worked on herself and her manner in recent years. She said she was very harsh, or as she put it, anguished, and that she had also been verbally abusive toward friends.
She said she did not mean that she insulted them, but that because she is perceptive, she knows exactly where it will hurt someone and where to strike. She said this is a form of abuse, when someone hits another person below the belt.
Konstantaki went on to say that in recent years she has worked on communicating in a way that does not offend the other person.
She said that what she has been trying to work on in recent years is her manner of speaking, so that if she wants to say something, she can say it in a nice way, without hurting or insulting the other person, without making them feel inferior or small. She said she is succeeding, and that she sees a huge difference in how people respond to her now.
