Kelly Osbourne Recalls Ozzy Osbourne's Final Words

Kelly Osbourne has described the final conversation she had with her father, Ozzy Osbourne, just three days before he died of a heart attack in July 2025 at the age of 76.

"He sat me down, and this was about three days before he died. He goes, 'You can live the rest of your life knowing that there was one man on this planet that truly loved you,'" Kelly said on the September 15 episode of the We Need to Talk podcast. "I started to cry."

Kelly, 41, said she begged him to stop. "I said, 'Please don't talk like this. Please don't talk like this,'" she recalled. "'Cause he said, 'You know, I'm not going to be here forever.'"

Kelly, who shares 3-year-old son Sidney with ex-fiance Sid Wilson, also said she was grateful to her mother, Sharon Osbourne, for helping her father find peace before he died.

"My mum allowed him to die the happiest I'd ever seen him," Kelly said. "All he wanted before he left this planet was one last show. My mum worked her ass off to make that happen, and it was one of the most incredible moments in music history."

Kelly was referring to the "Back to the Beginning" farewell concert in July 2025, a tribute celebrating Ozzy that she said nothing would ever match.

"It was all the people that got to be who they are because of him coming to pay tribute to him," she said, "and he got to say goodbye, and then he let go."

Sharon Osbourne's account

Sharon, who is also mother to Aimee Osbourne, 42, and Jack Osbourne, 40, has separately spoken about her husband's final words to her. She shared the memory tearfully on Piers Morgan Uncensored in December.

"He was up and down to the bathroom all night, and it was 4:30 a.m., and he said, 'Wake up,'" Sharon said. "I said, 'I'm already bloody awake, you've woken me up.'"

"He said, 'Kiss me,'" she continued. "And then he said, 'Hug me tight.'"

Sharon, 73, said she wished she had realized in the moment how significant it was. "If only I'd have told him I loved him more," she said. "If only I'd have held him tighter."

Ozzy Osbourne's legacy

Ozzy Osbourne, born John Michael Osbourne in Birmingham, England, in 1948, rose to fame as the frontman of Black Sabbath, the band widely credited with helping pioneer heavy metal. He later built a successful solo career and became known to a new generation of fans through the reality series The Osbournes, which followed his family from 2002 to 2005.

He married Sharon Arden in 1982, and the couple went on to have Aimee, Kelly and Jack together. Ozzy also had children from his first marriage, to Thelma Riley.

Ozzy died of a heart attack in July 2025 at the age of 76, weeks after taking part in the "Back to the Beginning" farewell concert that Kelly says he had wanted as a final send-off.
