Model Kaia Gerber said she strongly disagrees with people who describe her as the lookalike of her mother, supermodel Cindy Crawford.
Gerber, who is following her mother's path in fashion modeling, admitted in an interview with Yahoo! Entertainment that she feels deeply flattered by the comparison.
Gerber said that speaking seriously, it is an honor when people tell her she resembles her mother. She added that she wishes she looked like her, noting that even on her best days she does not come close. Gerber called Crawford the most beautiful woman inside and out, adding that reminding anyone of her is the greatest compliment she could receive.
Upbringing and Childhood Views
In a previous interview with Harper's Bazaar in January, Gerber reflected on growing up with Crawford as her mother. She said she felt blessed to grow up in a family where female nudity was not treated with shame. Gerber explained that she viewed artistic photographs of her mother as empowering rather than vulgar or objectifying, calling it a gift to be raised without body shame.
Gerber also described her early childhood as quite isolated, but in a positive and normal way. She said she attended public school, joined the choir, performed in community theatre plays, took part in singing recitals, and practiced dance.
