An Israeli strike on a vehicle in the Sheikh Radwan neighbourhood of northern Gaza killed at least two people, including a minor, and wounded seven others, local health authorities said.
The wounded were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment, according to the health authorities, as a new round of Israeli airstrikes hit the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli military said it had struck a militant in the area but gave few further details.
Witnesses describe second strike
Witnesses said some of the casualties resulted from a second strike, which hit near a group of people who had rushed to help those wounded in the initial attack.
A video, the authenticity of which has not been independently verified by Reuters, appears to show a missile exploding near at least five men.
Funerals held for two Palestinians killed a day earlier
Earlier in Gaza, funerals were held for two Palestinians, Ahmed al-Batsh and Rafat Zoumar, who were killed the previous day in Israeli strikes.
Al-Batsh was a local Hamas commander, according to sources within the group and the Israeli military. Rescuers said he was killed when his vehicle was struck in the northern Gaza Strip.
The Israeli military said it had killed both men, describing Zoumar as a Hamas commander. Hamas, the Islamist Palestinian group that governs Gaza, has not directly commented on Zoumar's role within the organisation.

The Gaza Strip, a narrow Palestinian territory on the eastern Mediterranean coast bordering Israel and Egypt, has been the site of repeated Israeli military operations amid the wider war between Israel and Hamas. Hamas, which has controlled Gaza since 2007, is designated a terrorist organisation by Israel, the United States and the European Union.
