Industrias San Miguel has announced the expansion of its Frutop juice brand into carton packaging across the Dominican Republic with the launch of Frutop Pulpix.

The new product line is packaged in 100 percent recyclable GS Pack cartons, bringing natural fruit pulp enriched with vitamins A, E and C to local families.
Industrias San Miguel developed the presentation to meet growing consumer demands for practicality, nutrition and daily convenience. Company leaders stated that entering the carton segment represents a natural progression to reinforce Frutop's position as a leading juice brand in the Dominican Republic while expanding into new households.
Production expansion in Santiago Rodriguez
The new product launch relies on the recent commissioning of production lines 15 and 16 at the company's manufacturing facility in Santiago Rodriguez. The expanded facilities operate under strict aseptic packaging standards, increasing overall operational capacity across multiple product categories.
Through aseptic processing technology, Frutop Pulpix maintains its freshness and nutritional value for up to eight months without requiring artificial preservatives. Aseptic packaging involves sterilising both the liquid beverage and the container separately before sealing them in a sterile environment.
The initial market rollout features three popular Dominican flavours: apple, pear and peach. Industrias San Miguel plans to introduce fruit cocktail and mango options in a second phase of the product release.
Carlos Leal, the marketing manager of Industrias San Miguel, said that Frutop keeps consumers at the centre of every decision. He explained that the new product and packaging presentation reaffirm the company's commitment to quality by offering a modern, accessible option that preserves freshness and nutrition.
Sustainability and circular economy strategy
Company officials emphasized that the carton release aligns with broader corporate sustainability goals rather than serving solely as a commercial milestone. The recyclable paperboard packaging forms part of a circular economy framework that incorporates efficient resource management and community education initiatives.
Mario Medina, the manager of corporate affairs and sustainability at Industrias San Miguel, said the company spent considerable time exploring carton packaging technology with a focus on environmental protection. He noted that entering the carton sector fits into their long term vision for sustainable growth, proving that high quality products can remain accessible while protecting the environment.
Two decades of Dominican beverage manufacturing
Industrias San Miguel has operated in the Dominican Republic for more than 20 years, building a beverage portfolio that includes Kola Real, Cool Heaven, Frutop, Generade and Enerup. The company attributes its market standing to healthy competition, entrepreneurship and continuous infrastructure investment.
In addition to beverage production, the manufacturer participates in corporate social responsibility initiatives, including backing national art projects and environmental protection schemes. Recent environmental efforts include a joint program that planted more than 5,000 trees in the Dominican border region, alongside ongoing community outreach programs scheduled to accompany the new packaging rollout.
