Greek actress Yro Mane is mourning the death of her mother, Georgia, who died at the age of 89. The news was made public by Spyros Bibilas, Mane's co-star in the touring stage production of "Romeo and Juliet."

Bibilas announced the death in a social media post, saying it came just as the touring cast was preparing to stage the play in Chios, the birthplace of Mane's mother.

A tribute from Chios
Bibilas said the cast would perform that day's show carrying heavy personal grief. With the troupe in Chios, he said the mother of his beloved friend Yro Mane had passed away, and that the performance of "Romeo and Juliet" would be dedicated to the memory of the Chios-born Georgia.

He described it as the hardest circumstance an actor who also respects the audience can face, coming on the one and only scheduled performance in Chios. He offered Mane words of courage, telling her the whole cast stood beside her, and wished her mother a good journey, saying she would now watch them from the sky and smile.
