Grand Frais is recalling pesto rosso octopus slices sold across France after Listeria monocytogenes was detected in the product, the government recall website Rappel Conso said on Tuesday, August 4.
The affected batches were sold in trays between Tuesday, July 28 and Monday, August 3.
Consumers should not eat octopus slices bearing batch number 260727, which has a use-by date of August 6, 2026.
Health risk
Rappel Conso said the product poses a microbiological risk of listeriosis, an infection that can cause gastrointestinal problems and particularly affects vulnerable people.
The agency advised consumers to return the product to the point of sale for a refund or to contact customer service at 04.78.81.68.00.
