Chinese automaker Geely has opened pre-sales in China for its new Galaxy TT electric fastback, with prices starting at 145,900 yuan ($21,400).

The top rear-wheel-drive variant is priced at 169,900 yuan ($25,000). Geely also previously introduced a limited-edition all-wheel-drive TT Ultra model capped at 999 units for 209,800 yuan ($30,900).

Battery and charging technology

The vehicle is built on an 800-volt electrical architecture and features a CATL Shenxing TT battery custom-developed for the model. The battery uses an NP3.0 thermal runaway protection system to prevent overheating and fire risks.

With support for 6C ultra-fast charging, the battery can replenish more than 400 km of driving range in 11 minutes. Geely has also equipped the car with its proprietary 16-in-1 electric drive system, with select versions offering a total driving range of up to 640 km.

High-voltage 800-volt architectures allow electric vehicles to maintain higher energy efficiency and recharge at significantly faster rates than standard systems. Battery supplier CATL is one of the world's largest producers of electric vehicle batteries.

Design and cabin equipment

The fastback measures 4,999 mm in length, 1,919 mm in width and 1,479 mm in height, with a 2,920 mm wheelbase. Exterior design elements include a closed front end, L-shaped headlights, a roof-mounted lidar sensor and an adaptive electric spoiler.

Intelligent driver assistance functions are managed by the G-ASD G-Pilot H7 system. Lidar sensors use laser light to map the surroundings of the vehicle, providing precise data for advanced safety and navigation assistance.

Inside, the cabin features a digital instrument panel, a central touchscreen and an augmented-reality head-up display (AR-HUD) paired with the second-generation Flyme Auto operating system. Front seats include 14-zone massage, ventilation and heating functions, while the panoramic glass roof covers an area of 1.97 square metres.

Powertrain performance

Rear-wheel-drive versions of the Galaxy TT produce 329 horsepower and 568 Nm of torque. The all-wheel-drive variant delivers 568 horsepower, according to details reported by CarNewsChina.
