Audio manufacturer FiiO has launched the EA13, its first pure stereo valve amplifier, entering the traditional living room Hi-Fi market with a fully analog design priced at $769.99.

The new amplifier completely dispenses with modern digital features, omitting Bluetooth connectivity, network streaming, built-in digital-to-analog converters, and mobile app integration in favor of four RCA inputs.
FiiO is a Chinese electronics manufacturer traditionally known for compact digital-to-analog converters, portable audio players, and desktop headphone amplifiers. Valve amplifiers use thermionic vacuum tubes to process audio signals, a design prized by audiophiles for producing a warm sound signature.
According to audio publication eCoustics, FiiO spent three years developing the EA13 as a traditional integrated amplifier, extending the company's high-end desktop line into full-sized home stereo systems.
Vacuum tube configuration and power output


The physical character of the EA13 is defined by six visible vacuum tubes mounted on the top panel. Four of these are EL34 power tubes, the same valve type widely used in classic Marshall guitar amplifiers, while the remaining two are vintage unused Sylvania PCF80 tubes that process the signal before it reaches the power stage.
British manufacturer Marshall built its reputation on vacuum tube guitar amplification, where EL34 tubes became famous for their mid-range response. Vintage unused valves, often referred to as new old stock, are original components stored for decades without prior use.
FiiO states that the amplifier delivers up to 28 Watts per channel into 4-ohm or 8-ohm loudspeakers, although that maximum figure carries higher distortion levels. When total harmonic distortion is restricted to below 1 percent, output power measures 18 Watts per channel, which FiiO identifies as the primary reference for standard listening conditions.
A 6.35 mm headphone jack on the front panel supports headphones rated between 16 and 300 ohms. FiiO designated headphone playback as a secondary feature rather than the primary purpose of an amplifier designed mainly to power traditional loudspeakers.
Physical design and internal construction


Constructed with a machined aluminum chassis and front panel, the EA13 measures approximately 43 centimeters wide and weighs 17.7 kilograms, matching the proportions of conventional high-fidelity stereo equipment.
The design combines styling cues reminiscent of Marshall equipment with the luxury aesthetic of American high-end audio brand McIntosh, which is famous for heavy metal construction and illuminated front-panel meters.
Inside the chassis, custom-manufactured output transformers utilize silicon steel laminations filled with epoxy resin and fine sand. FiiO stated that this construction reduces internal vibrations, isolates sensitive components, improves moisture resistance, and maintains acoustic performance over time.
The front control interface includes a 40-step manual volume control and dual mechanical VU meters. FiiO omitted several standard modern features, including a remote control, a dedicated phono input for turntables, digital conversion, and selectable tube operating modes.
Price and market comparison
The EA13 carries a United States retail price of $769.99, which converts to approximately 660 euros. According to market data from eCoustics, comparable EL34 valve amplifiers typically sell for between $1,500 and more than $3,000, equivalent to roughly 1,286 euros to over 2,572 euros.
FiiO has not yet announced official pricing or release details for Spain.
