The Ecuadorian Football Federation (FEF) confirmed that Ecuador's national team will play a friendly against South Korea on September 24, during the international FIFA match window.
The game will be held at Big Bird Stadium in Suwon, South Korea. It will be one of the first matches for the Ecuadorian team, known as La Tri, under a new coach the FEF plans to announce by the end of August as a replacement for Sebastian Beccacece.
Third Meeting Between the Teams
This will be the third time Ecuador and South Korea have met. Their first match was on June 5, 1994, when Ecuador won 2-1 with goals from Carlos Vernaza and Ivo Ron. Their most recent meeting was on May 16, 2010, when South Korea won 2-0. The two teams will meet again after more than 16 years.
The FEF is still finalizing Ecuador's preparation schedule for upcoming FIFA dates while it continues the process of selecting the team's new coach.
