Contract is signed for the third stage of the Chavimochic project

President Dina Boluarte signed this Tuesday, April 30, the agreement for the execution of the third stage of Chavimochic, a special project that will generate 150,000 direct jobs, according to the Minister of Agrarian Development and Irrigation, Ángel Manero. In this sense, the Government signed the State-to-State contract with Canada for the technical assistance service in this new stage.

“Today, this Government demonstrates its commitment to national agriculture, but also to international food. We know that we are going through a moment of food security and if we do not think about water and agriculture, and if we do not think about ensuring our seeds, we are not thinking about ensuring world food,” said Boluarte.

Likewise, the Minister of Agrarian Development highlighted that Chavimochic would be one of the largest projects in the world, since if the three stages are combined, we would be talking about 180,000 hectares. This will also benefit the producers of Chao, Virú, Moche and Chicama, in the La Libertad region, who will be able to increase their crop hectares.

“It is a Government to Government contract, which includes the most important of the works that remain to be done and completed. This is going to take years, It will start this year and will be finished at the end of 2027″added Manero.
