As part of the celebrations of the 149th Anniversary of the creation of the Faculty of Economic Sciences, the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM) organizes the master conference “Importance of Mining in Peru: A Testimony of Life”, by the engineer Augusto Baerlt Montori, this Monday, April 22.
Baerlt is a renowned professional and businessman with extensive experience in promoting investments in the country and promoting social dialogue between the State, business and the social environment.
He has been president on two occasions of the National Society of Mining, Petroleum and Energy (SNMPE); president, manager and director of multiple companies; president of the Institute of Mining Engineers of Peru (IIMP); among other activities that contribute to the economic growth of the country.
His knowledge and accumulated experience in the promotion of investments, management and administration in the mining sector, the most important sector of the Peruvian economy, especially from the period from the seventies of the last century to the present, will be of utmost importance for the professors and students of the faculty and the general public.
He has also been the first president and founder of the “Dialogue, Mining and Sustainable Development Group in Peru”, and is currently the president of the board of Agrícola Chapi, an important agro-export company and also of the company Panoro Minerals. He is also a benefactor of different non-profit organizations, such as the Casa Hogar Santo Toribio de Mogrovejo among others.
The academic event will take place on Monday, April 22 at 11 am in the facilities of the Graduate Hall of the Faculty of Economic Sciences
(Old Pavilion) of the University City. Admission will be free upon registration.
