If successful, it is estimated to benefit almost 9 million people, who will be able to partially dispose of their money or move it to a financial institution.
“There are already those who are facing unemployment, others are looking to fulfill their children’s education, and there are those who need to complete the family basket. We cannot be indolent, turn our backs on them, or deny them the opportunity to use their own savings to provide for their families.” Luna pointed out.
Besides, Bill 05761/2023-CR presented to Congress determines that the member freely chooses a new pension product in financial institutions in the market under a long-term deposit system, with security and stability.
Banks, finance companies, rural or municipal savings banks must be authorized by the Superintendence of Banking, Insurance and AFP (SBS).
This bet, according to Luna, will avoid affecting the contributors because, “under the system that the Pension Fund Administrators work and the collection of commissions, they always win, and they do so in millions at the expense of the affiliates.”
