A severe setback was suffered by the negotiations that had been taking place before the arbitral tribunal, with a view to seeking the unblocking of the works of the III stage of Chavimochic, in Freedom, because this entity rejected the 90-day term and an extension to 30 more days that the parties involved (Midagri and the concessionaire) had requested, letting it be known that on Monday, October 3, they will read the award.
This information was confirmed by Yuri Armas in Exitosa Noticias, who pointed out that the arbitrators have indicated that the maximum they could give is 60 working days, but it will depend on the Government being able to manage said extension as soon as possible.
“We need the Government and the concessionaire to ask the arbitral tribunal to reconsider the response that was announced on Thursday, September 29, which rejected the 120-day period requested and that on Monday, October 3, they would read their award.Arms said.
“This deadline for reading the award is very short, in three days there is very little they can do, but we trust that the Government of Peru will act quickly so as not to leave more than 500,000 people in Trujillo without water. The arbitrators leave open the possibility of requesting 60 business days, which we hope the two parties agree on, for the benefit of employment, of the population, the Chavimochic Special Project generates development for the country”, added the also representative of the agribusinesses (ADAS).
